The South Dakota Counseling Association (SDCA) is a partnership of associations representing professional counselors who enhance human development by providing benefits, products and services to expand professional knowledge and expertise; to promote recognition of counselors to the public and media; and to represent member's interests before federal, state, and local government.
Graduate Student Scholarship
SDCA values its student members. As a way of showing its appreciation, SDCA has established a scholarship for graduate students to offset part of their conference costs. This will be the fifth year scholarships are awarded.
Eight scholarships in the amount of $300.00 each will be awarded---two each to students at NSU, SDSU, SDSU West River Graduate Center, and USD. In order to apply, the student needs to meet the following criteria:
1. Applicant must be an SDCA Student Member.
2. Applicant must agree to serve as a student moderator at the conference.
3. Applicant must provide a statement showing how they have or will contribute to SDCA. (E.g. conference presentation or poster presentation, writing a newsletter or journal article, SDCA leadership or committee work, membership recruitment, chapter involvement).
4. Applicant must submit verification of involvement. (E.g. A letter of support from an SDCA member).
